Garlinghouse told Bitcoinist that Ripple is abandoning its cross-appeal and the SEC is anticipated to drop its appeal, ending the XRP dispute. He stated that they are concluding this chapter and developing the Internet of Value. The case affects an XRP ETF, according to Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart earlier this year. In an X post, Seyffart said an XRP ETF is unlikely until the SEC-Ripple dispute is resolved. He said the Commission needs to “untangle that mess” before approving ETFs. In contrast, the Commission has urged issuers to alter Solana ETFs before approving them. After the SEC declines its appeal and terminates the XRP case, it may communicate with XRP ETF issuers on future actions. Nate Geraci said that BlackRock, the world's biggest asset management, may apply to provide an XRP ETF once the XRP case ended. Despite selling Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, the asset management has not filed for XRP. This differs from Bitwise, which has filed to sell ETFs for XRP, Solana, and Dogecoin, among others.
