In a Thursday news release, Nasdaq-listed healthcare business Semler Scientific (SMLR) hired Joe Burnett Director of Bitcoin Strategy. The business said Burnett's addition might improve its Bitcoin treasury strategy and “deliver long-term value to our stockholders.” The corporation announced a three-year plan to buy up to 105,000 BTC with the appointment. The corporation will use stock, debt, and operating cash flow to finance the transactions. Semler wants 10,000 BTC by 2025, 42,000 by 2026, and 105,000 by 2027. Company treasury has 4,449 BTC, worth $464 million at current pricing. As of June 3, 2025, Semler claims a 287% BTC yield and $177 million gain on their bitcoin assets after adopting the Bitcoin Standard in May 2024. The business claims to be the second US public corporation to use a Bitcoin treasury approach after Michael Saylor. Semler originally bought 581 BTC for $40 million on May 28 to launch its Bitcoin strategy.
